2024 Hidden Gems Selection
Wine is a journey of constant discovery, and we are always thrilled when we come across new projects that surprise us, and then can share these wines, which are often very small productions, with the world.
These are the 6 special bottles we have chosen for you:
Las Compuertas is a small area in Luján de Cuyo, tucked between the more famous Vistalba and Agrelo regions and the Andes mountains, where we came across Finca La Malka, and were impressed by their pure Malbec and Cabernet Franc & Malbec blend.
With summer coming up, we have selected a unique, warm climate Malbec from winemaker Daniel Pi, and the delicious Fiano by Bodega Caelum, one of our favorite whites in Mendoza.
Krontiras winery is a recent addition to our tours, and has been an instant hit with our guests. These wines are made with nature in mind and are so smooth! Enjoy their style of Tempranillo and their distinguished Malbec blend.

This wine is a treat, a very small production that is only available at the Finca itself - and through our wine club! The typical soft tannins and mineral flavors of Cabernet Franc give this Malbec blend a wonderful smoothness.

"Delagreis" means Grace's wine, honoring Graciela, matriarch and founder of Finca La Malka. This is such a pure expression of a Luján de Cuyo Malbec, fresh and with powerful fruit, that you won't believe it is bottle aged and unoaked. With lots of dark red fruit flavors and firm, yet round tannins, a great wine to enjoy with cheeses and nibbles to start the evening.
Daniel Pi Irracional Malbec 2019

Winemaker Daniel Pi is back in our wine selection! Broadening his Tres14 line, he introduces this yummy Malbec from San Juan, Mendoza's neighbor province. "That which transcends is irrational" says Daniel. To innovate you have to push limits, and he certainly does so with this slightly different Malbec, a bit jammier and spicier than its Mendoza cousins.
Caelum Gran Reserve Fiano 2019

Our favorite family owned boutique winery, Caelum, produces the only Fiano wine in Mendoza. It is an elegant white varietal of Italian origin, striking just the right balance between freshness and complexity, with a long-lasting finish. An ideal wine for a light dinner in the summer.

Agliánico is a dark, powerful grape variety of Greek origin, today mostly grown in Italy, where it is considered one of the three greatest varieties besides Sangiovese and Nebbiolo (Barolo). We have Krontiras winery to thank for bringing it to Mendoza and blending it with Malbec, an old-world new-world match that just works out great!
